What the heck is

Tiny Talks?

Tiny Talks is an event series in Austin, TX focused on bringing people together through the art of storytelling. Every ~3 months (and always on a Tuesday), Austin’s most passionate individuals gather to meet, listen and connect.

For one hour of each event, ~8-10 Austin locals give 5-8 minute presentations that provide a glimpse into their unique passions, pursuits and experiences. All Tiny Talks must use PowerPoint slides and each slide must be setup to auto-advance on a timer (no clicker remotes!).

Past Tiny Talks

A few of our favorite talks from past events

VIBE (6:30-8PM)

An hour and a half to mix and mingle before the show. We provide everyone with a name tag because beautiful things happen when strangers talk to each other.

LISTEN (8-9:30PM)

The show features 8 to 10 speakers, each giving a ~5-8 minute presentation (with a ~15 min intermission halfway). No two presentations are alike, and all are told live, without notes.

CONNECT (9:30-10:30PM)

After the talks, there’s another happy hour to hang and meet speakers and attendees. All speakers are local, and most attendees are too.

What are Tiny Talks

About?

Tiny Talks are not limited to any particular topics or topic areas. A presentation about someone’s peculiar hobby may follow a presentation about another’s life’s work. Or the story of a dramatic, life-changing moment may follow the type of fun, lighthearted story you’d hear at a party.

The goal of our event is to highlight the full spectrum of human experiences and passions that our incredibly diverse city is home to.
