Tiny Talks was created as a way to bring inspiration and connection to Austin’s community in a fun, accessible form.
The event was founded in 2023 by Jon Cooper, a Florida transplant who moved to Austin in 2020. After a decade operating a digital marketing agency, Jon turned his focus to building community in Austin, leading him to meeting dozens of Austinites with all kinds of obscure, weird and fascinating interests and experiences. Upon reflection, Jon realized that Austin needed a platform to feature those individuals so others could discover, hear from and meet them, too.
The first Tiny Talks was held on September 19th, 2023 at Pershing Hall in East Austin. Since then, Tiny Talks has held three more events, including two at Austin School of Film, with a 5th event coming in September 2024 at Regal Rooms in South Austin.
